Class Description
There are a variety of dance classes to choose from, including ballet and tap, through to modern and street. Here is a description of what each class entails, with details of the kind of skills developed through the class.
Ballet (ISTD).
Ballet is the basis of all dance as it teaches posture and poise control and alignment of the body, flexability, muscle strength, performance and presentation skills. The Prima Syllabus is used for the younger children.
Tap (ISTD).
Tap is a fun style of dance and helps develop coordination, quick footwork, musicality and rhythm.
Modern ISTD.
Modern is a technical style of dance which teaches Jazz and lyrical styles, technique, posture and poise, performance, flexability, control and alignment of the body.
Street -Non Syllabus.
Street is a fun and funky style of dance which helps develop memory, quick footwork, coordination, as well as different and interesting moves style.
Song and Dance
In this class the students work towards different musicals and plays. It involves acting, singing and dancing and helps to improve confidence and performing skills! This is a good stepping stone before joining Stage School.
Stage School
This class is meant for students who are more serious about theatre training and want to spend more time improving their confidence and performing skills in singing, dance and drama. This class covers a wide range of musical theatre, pantomimes and plays over the year and the students always look forward to working towards putting on a performance for friends and family at the end of each term. This is a fun and exciting class which teaches the specific techniques needed for singing, dance and drama.
